Amos Bramel

June 4, 1928 — January 19, 2019

Amos Paul Bramel, age 90, of Flemingsburg, beloved husband of 71 years to Helen R. Bramel, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home. Amos was born in Fleming County on June 4, 1928, a son of the late Lester Amos and Cecil Neudigate Bramel. He was a faithful member of Wallingford Methodist Church and also a member of Gideon's International. Amos was a retired electrician with Fleming-Mason RECC and also a state electrical inspector. Amos was a loving family man with a gentle soul, and will always be remembered for his kind heart and loving smile. Besides his wife, he is survived by: two sons, Paul (Diane) Bramel of Lexington, and Ronnie (Linda) Bramel of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren, Jody (Casey) Bramel of Eugene, OR, Rev. Jeff (Megan) Bramel of Stanford, Deena (Pete) Peden of Richmond, Ashley (Kim) Bramel of Flemingsburg, and Hailee (Jeff) Boggs of Owingsville; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth (Warner) Manning of Ohio. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Phyllis Ann Bramel; three brothers, Leroy Neville Bramel, Raymond Douglas Bramel, and Newell Clifton Bramel; and a sister, Marjorie Bramel. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 24, 2019 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Jeff Bramel and the Rev. Cindy Baker. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday, January 23rd at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wallingford Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Jody Bramel, Ashley Bramel, Adam Bramel, Jeff Boggs, Pete Peden, Michael Bramel, Randy Bramel, Ray Hitch, and Jimmy Hitch. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Hailee Boggs, Deena Peden, Casey Bramel, Megan Bramel, Kim Bramel and great-grandchildren, Saul Bramel, Ellie Bramel, Jonah Bramel, Hudson Peden, Riley Boggs, Aubrey Bramel, and Adam Bramel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wallingford United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 5, Wallingford, KY 41093.
