Art Anderson Mers, 81 of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at the Pioneer Trace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born March 15, 1945 in Paris, Kentucky a son of the late Malcom Mers and Lovelace Hill Mers. 

Art was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ in Mason County, Kentucky. He had a love for the outdoors especially hunting and he spent most of his life farming. He also served as the manager at the Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 in Flemingsburg for many years. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Mers; five brothers, Robert "Bob" Earl Mers, Kenneth Cecil Mers, James Samuel Mers, Harry Clary Mers, and Donald Ray Mers.

Survivors include one son, Chuck Mers; two daughters, Kandis Belle and Sandra Lynn; one cousin that was like brother to him, Elmer Pitts and wife Janell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 6, 2026 in the chapel of the Elizaville Cemetery with Pastor Adam Gulley officiating.

Art will be laid to rest in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service at the cemetery chapel. 

Family and Friends will service as casket bearers.
