Audrey L. Williams Burgin Whitton passed away August 3, 2026 at her home in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. She born in Bath County, Kentucky near South Sherburne to the late Emery and Lena Perry Williams on November 11, 1932.

She attended Bethel, Kentucky School and after graduation she attended and graduated from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Lexington, Kentucky and worked as a nurse for over fifteen years.

Audrey married Charles E. Burgin whom she had met when he pastored the Sherburne Christian Church and were married for nearly thirty years. 

As a nurse she worked at a nursing home in Louisville, Kentucky. She also taught medication administration at the Montgomery County Community College. She also worked as a nurse and substitute teacher with the mentally challenged. 

She enjoyed quilting and served two years as president of the quilting club in Maysville, Kentucky. She served two years of the President of the Johnson Homemakers of Fleming County. She was a Republican election officer and worked the polls for several years and also was a Kentucky Colonel. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Imogene Bromagen and Siebell Fleming; her grandparents, Ernest and Maggie Boyd Williams and Cyrus and Vernette Starrett Perry.

Later in life she was married to Irvin Lee Whitton for twenty years. 

Survivors include one son, Robert Charles Burgin of Flemingsburg; a granddaughter Crystal Garrett of Lousiville, Kentucky; also several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Thursday August 6, 2026 at the Fleming County Cemetery with Rev. Greg Grimes officiating. 

There will be no visitation.
