Betty Jane Stephens, 86, of Ewing, passed away from this life on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Betty was born on January 10, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Glenn and Sally Leet.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by; her husband, Irue D. Stephens who was a World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient, of which Betty was very proud, and daughter-in-law, Judy Marshall Stephens.

She is survived by: her three children, Jack Stephens, Danny (Vicki)Stephens, Corkey (Jerry) Wagner; eight grandchildren, Brad (Nikki) Stephens, Jeff (Angie) Stephens, April Stephens (Duane) Lowe, Amber Stephens (Emery 'Trippy') Clark, Brooke Wagner (Wes) Applegate, Jill Stephens (Mike) Vice, Jared (Amy) Wagner, and Laura Wagner (Tony) Hamby. She was a great-grandmother to Sidney and Noah Stephens, Blake Clark, Morgan and Jordan Stephens, Owen Lowe, Courtney, Chip and Cole Clark, Brad, Alayna and Brady Applegate, Coltan, Canon and Kenady Vice, and Addyson and Harper Hamby.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Greg Grimes and Rev. Bob G. Ray. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday, October 7th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
