Bonnie Armstrong Rosser, 84, of Flemingsburg, passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2026 surrounded by family.She was born on June 30, 1941 to the late Douglas “Doug” and the late Beulah Doyle Armstrong of Flemingsburg.
Bonnie was a lifelong resident of Flemingsburg and a proud graduate of Fleming County High School Class of 1959.In 1966, Bonnie married her beloved husband Jerry Rosser. Her favorite titles were wife, mom and mamaw. Many children outside of her family affectionately knew her as mamaw as she would always extend love and grace to anyone who needed it. She was known for her kind smile, warm demeanor and her love for her family, traveling and collecting antiques.
She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church. Bonnie served as treasurer there and spent many wonderful years in community with her Aldersgate Sunday school class.Bonnie enjoyed sharing her home to host friends, family and employees. She also loved spreading Christmas cheer when she would enter the community’s annual decorating contest. She loved her community and was fiercely dedicated to serving others.She retired from Community Trust Bank in 2005 following 42 years of service. She delighted in helping customers and enjoyed her time with her coworkers. She also assisted her husband in operations of their grocery store Jerry’s IGA, handi mart convenience stores, farm and rental company.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald “Jerry” Rosser, parents Douglas “Doug” and Beulah Armstrong, sister Patricia Emmons as well as her brother Dougie Armstrong.
She is survived by her son Michael (Kay) Rosser, her grandchildren Trey (Emily) Rosser, Sydney (Cory) Moore and Tasha (Kevin) McCarty. She is also survived by great grandchildren Riley, Emerson “Emmy”, Brecken, and Bella, in addition to her beloved brother in law Jimmy Emmons and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church, 117 W Main St, Flemingsburg, KY 41041 with Rev. Jesse Hickerson officiating.
Bonnie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Jerry in the Fleming County Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Thursday at the church.
Casket bearers will be Trey Rosser, Shay Emmons, Cory Moore, Kevin McCarty, Tony Armstrong, and Justin May.
