Brenda Joyce Mitchell Hatfield

Brenda Joyce Mitchell Hatfield, born on August 21, 1951, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence in Ewing, Kentucky, on November 19, 2025.

Brenda dedicated a significant part of her life to her career as a seamstress at Jockey International, where she brought her craft to life through skill and creativity. Her professional achievements were matched only by her vibrant spirit and a passion for life that extended beyond her work.

As a devoted mother, Brenda is survived by her three daughters: Sherri Hatfield of Ewing, Kentucky; Kimberly Stanfield (Chad) of Paris, Kentucky; and Janet Hall (Larry) of Mason County, Kentucky. She also leaves behind a cherished brother, Clarence "Beatty" Mitchell of Cowan, Kentucky, and a loving network of family including her three grandchildren: Jordan Lee-Anna Barnes (Sarah), Holden Storm Fryman, and Ethan Clay Stanfield. Her family ties extended to a niece, Melinda Carpenter, a special great niece, Jarra Mitchell, and cousins Brian Charlie Mitchell and Brenda Morrow, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

 She enjoyed spending time immersed in her hobbies, which included reading, working on puzzle books, coloring, and taking immense joy in watching her grandchildren play. Her love of family was evident in every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories through shared experiences.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James Mitchell and Evelyn Mitchell, and her devoted husband, Eddie Hatfield. Additionally, she was predeceased by her brothers Douglas Mitchell, Eddie "Ozzy" Mitchell, Jimmy Mitchell, and Bobby Mitchell, as well as sisters Judy McIntyre and Linda Sue Bussell.

A visitation in honor of Brenda is scheduled for November 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home located at 405 S Main Cross St, Flemingsburg, KY 41041. This will be followed by her funeral service at 7:00 P.M.

Brenda will be laid to rest in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Gordon Pepper, Larry Hall, Chad Stanfield, Holden Fryman, Ethan Stanfield, and Tyler Hughes.

All arrangements for Brenda Joyce Mitchell Hatfield and family are under the care and direction of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg.
