Darlene Emily Smoot Allen Hamm

Darlene Emily Smoot Allen Hamm, 68, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

She was born October 7, 1955, in Fleming County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Carlos Edward Smoot and Oma Beatrice Rigdon Cooper.

Darlene was a homemaker and was of the Church of God faith. She enjoyed attending to her flowers, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She dedicated numerous hours volunteering at the Fleming County Senior Citizens Center.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Chester Ray "Junior" Hamm; two brothers, Bobby Eugene Smoot and Edward Allen "Fast Eddie" Smoot; one sister, Mildred Katherine Mineer.

Survivors include her companion of 24 years, Roger Dale Carpenter; two sons, Charles Ray Allen of Flemingsburg and Wilford Ray Allen and wife Heather of Morehead, Kentucky; one daughter, Dreamma Kay Barton of Maysville; two sisters, Patricia M. Hunt and husband Paul and Jennifer Ann McGlone and husband Billy both of Flemingsburg; special niece whom she considered a sister, Brenda Younce of Flemingsburg; nine grandchildren, Emily Nicole Allen, Tori Duzan, Andrew Barton, Courtney Barton, Elizabeth Barton, Rylee Hamm, Zayne Allen and Xander Allen; one great grandchild. Maggie Faith Duzan; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 1, 2024 in the Chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Brother James Ray Hickerson officiating.

Darlene will be laid to rest next to her son and brother in the Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 12 noon Saturday until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Casket Bearers will be Wilford Allen, Ray Allen, Rylee Hamm, Andrew Barton, Donnie Hunt, Jimmy Hunt, Paul Hunt and Darl Souder.
