Donald Alexander

December 13, 1944 — July 28, 2018

Donald Gene Alexander, age 73 of Ewing, beloved husband, best friend, and soul mate of Darlene Sherman Alexander to whom he married on August 19, 1983, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington with his wife by his side. Born on December 13, 1944 in Maysville, he was a son of the late Earl "Colie" and Faye Hogge Alexander. Don was a truck driver for fifty years and worked at Toyo Seat for ten years. He enjoyed old cars, watching the Cincinnati Reds and UK basketball, traveling, and was member of Ewing Christian Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by: his children, Doug Brown of Lawrenceburg, KY, Nancye Allison of Shelbyville, Donna (David) Robinson of Hillsboro, Ashley Alexander of Hillsboro, and Shari (Robert) Jones of Mississippi; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Van (Debra) Alexander of Flemingsburg; an uncle, Cliff Hogge; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Jackie Alexander. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Ewing Christian Church officiated by Rev. Larry T. Ingram. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Wednesday, August 1st at Ewing Christian Church. Memorials are suggested to the Ewing Christian Church, P.O. Box 284, Ewing, KY 41039. Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral home is in care of funeral arrangements.
