Doris Gehring

Doris A. Gehring, age 75, passed from this life peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2014. Doris was born in Louisville, KY on July 20, 1939 to the late Harvey and Mary True. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey William 'Buzzy' True, as well as a special nephew, Jason Stearns of Albany, KY.

Doris is survived by her two sons, Phillip (Maria) of Florida, and Christopher (Angela) and granddaughter, Emy of Ewing, KY; her three sisters, Sally of Nashville, TN, Vickie of Louisville, and Cindy (Marshall) of Albany, KY; and a brother, 'Mac' of Louisville. Doris was a devoted mother and grandmother and her deepest devotion to her beloved Sam of 56 years, and his to her, (his special MaPetite). Doris attended the University of Kentucky as well as being a long standing member of the Flemingsburg United Methodist Church and had recently been attending the Victory Christian Center in Washington, KY.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Flemingsburg United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Byron Mills and the Rev. Susan Elkow. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Thursday, October 23rd at the church. Memorials are suggested to a charity of one's choice. Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home is in care of funeral arrangements.
