Dudley Ritchie, 86, of Ewing, widower of Rose Evelyn Wagoner Ritchie, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Fleming County Hospital. Born on December 22, 1927 in Nicholas County, he was the son of the late Nathan Dudley and Hazel Argo Ritchie. Dudley was a WWII Army veteran stationed in Japan. A retired farmer, he raised cattle and was a very good tobacco farmer. He also loved to hunt but his true passion was cultivating tobacco. He is survived by: a son, Bryan (Melissa) Ritchie of Elizville; a granddaughter, Amanda (Ethan) Ramsey of Fleming County; a great-granddaughter, Madylen Rose Ramsey; two brothers, Vincent (Virgie) Ritchie of Xenia, OH, and Sturl Ritchie of Cynthiana. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Lenette Ritchie; and two sisters, Pauline Jenkins and Wilma McCord. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Denton-Workman Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, January 3rd at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elizaville Cemetery.
