Dwight Allen Meadows, 69 of Shelbyville, Kentucky a former resident of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after a brief illness.

He was born August 19, 1953, in Fleming County, Kentucky to the late Carlin and Juanita Selby Meadows.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Stacy Emmons.

Dwight was a retired insurance agent having worked for Shelter Insurance for over 32 years. He was a former agency owner, District Sales Supervisor and a Recruiter for Shelter Insurance. He had attended Morehead State University.

He was a member of the Shelby Christian Church where he served as an elder and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed reading and was deeply interested in Kentucky history, Civil War history and the history of President Abraham Lincoln.

Dwight enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed time with his Saturday Life group.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Stacy Meadows; one daughter, Melissa Jane Basso and her husband Anthony of Frankfort, Kentucky and one son, Tony Allen Emmons of Grayson, Kentucky.

Two brothers, Butch Meadows of Flemingsburg and Keith Meadows of Maysville, Kentucky. Five sisters: Susie Osborne of Owingsville, Kentucky, Mercedes McRoberts of Flemingsburg, Robyn Evans of Frankfort, Tammy Maxey of Flemingsburg and Jenny Meadows of Maysville. Five grandchildren: T. J. Emmons; Mandy Isaman, Matthew Snedegar, Abby Isaman and Hayden Basso. Two great-grandchildren, Michael Shields and Jaxon Gorrell. Also, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2023, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Pastor Kevin Comp officiating. Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is from 12 Noon until the hour of service.

Serving as pall bearers will be John Sims, Van “Doodle” Alexander, Ray Vice, Hayden Basso, Anthony Basso, Butch Meadows, Keith Meadows and Mark Allen Selby.
