Eddie Hatfield

Eddie R. Hatfield, 71, of Ewing, husband of Brenda Mitchell Hatfield, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Fleming County Hospital. Born November 23, 1942 in Nicholas County, he was the son of the late Robert Clay and Alma Mitchell Hatfield.

A US Army veteran, Eddie was a former farmer, truck driver, and contractor, painting fences and barns in Lexington and surrounding counties. Eddie was an avid horse lover, and loved to travel, having been in all U.S. States except for three (Hawaii, Maine, and New Hampshire). He was also a member of the Ewing Baptist Church and the VFW in Carlisle. Most of all, Eddie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Besides his loving wife of 46 years, he is survived by: three daughters, Kimberly Anne (Chad) Stanfield of Paris, Janet Hatfield (Larry Dean) Hall of Ewing, and Sherri Marie Hatfield of Ewing; two grandchildren, Jordan Lee-Anna Fryman of Lexington, and Holden Storm Fryman of Paris; a step-grandson, Ethan Clay Stanfield of Texas; a sister, Ellen Hatfield of Carlisle; special cousins, Robert Mitchell and Brian 'Charlie' Mitchell, both of Dayton, OH; special nephew, Danny Ray Hatfield of Cynthiana; best friend, Lloyd Duncan of Carlisle; special great-great-niece, Jarra Brooklyn Mitchell of Carlisle; and several other nieces and nephews. Eddie was a special 'Bee Baw' to Haydyn Scott Fugate.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Ewing Baptist Church. No visitation is planned. Memorials are suggested to a charity of one's choice. Condolences may be made at www.carpenterfritzvicefh.com
