Effie Mae Ensor Hunt, 88, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Monday, November, 18, 2024 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky.
She was born January 14, 1936 in Bethel, Kentucky a daughter of the late Tom Ensor and Nona Wells Moran.
Effie owned and operated Hungry Haven Restaurant and The U.S. Shoe Factory cafeteria for many years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, working her crossword puzzles, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Especially her grandchildren and great grand children.
She and Chesley were very active in the 4-H organization, and a member of the Sherburne Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband Chesley G. Hunt; Two sisters, Eva Mullikin and Sarah Emmons; six brothers Lewis Ensor, Thomas Ray Ensor, James Corbett Ensor, John Franklin Ensor, Clyde Jackson Ensor and Robert Wayne Ensor.
Survivors include, two sons, David Hunt (Pam) of Flemingsburg and Mike Hunt (Barb Mercer) of Fleming County Kentucky; Two step-children, Tom Hunt of Lexington Kentucky, and Patricia Buckner of Vandalia Ohio; One sister, JoAnn Martin (Bill) of Sharpsburg Kentucky; Two grandchildren, April Smoot (Joe) and Matthew Hunt (Amber) Hunt; four step grandchildren, Alyssa Keller (Ben), Gordon Hunt (Sharon), P.J. Taylor, and Jordan Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Hunter Smoot, Peyton Smoot, Andrew Smoot, London Hunt, Haisley Hunt, Brooklyn Baxter and Nick Taylor.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 23, 2024 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Pastor Tim Collins officiating.
Effie will be laid to rest in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Casket bearers will be Joe Smoot, Hunter Smoot, Bill Martin Jr., Matthew Hunt, David Ramey and Hookie Ishmael. Honorary casket bearer will be Andrew Smoot.
