Eldred T. “Buddy” Harding, age 90 of Flemingsburg, husband of Ann Peters Harding to whom he married on December 27, 1952, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at his residence. Born in Fleming County on January 29, 1930, Buddy was the son of the late Emory Thomas and Mary Sue Hazelrigg Harding. Buddy founded the Fleming County Animal Hospital in 1957, having practiced and served for over 50 years as a veterinarian in Fleming County. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Buddy was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Auburn University, where he received his D.V.M. A member of the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church, he was also a past member of the Fleming County Kiwanis Club and Fleming County Country Club. Buddy was a wonderful husband and father to his wife and children and always took great care of his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by: a son, Dr. David E. (Cynthia C.) Harding of Tuscaloosa, AL; a daughter, Debra H. (Dr. Robert E.) Buring of West Chester, OH; grandchildren, Christopher Harding of Atlanta, GA, Keaton Harding of Birmingham, AL, Julie A. (Scott) Hughes of Burlington, KY and Robert A. (Danielle) Buring of Burlington, KY; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Ben Cain and Pastor Jeff Lambert. Visitation will be 11am-2pm Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Flemingsburg Cemetery with Military Funeral Honors performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 & Franklin Sousley VFW Post #1834. Pallbearers will be Chris Harding, Keaton Harding, Bill Hillis, Scott Perkins, James Smoot, Bill Bacon, Jason Walton, and Travis Walton.
