Emma Jean Lightner Emmons, 86, of Hilltop, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at UK Hospital in Lexington.-She was born in Wallingford, Ky.-on August 26, 1926 to the late Eugene Lightner and Nellie Hurst Lightner.-A member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association,-Mrs. Emmons-taught in the-Fleming County School System for over 33 years.

She is survived by one son; Leslie Eugene Lewis of Flemingsburg, two great nieces; Jennifer Callahan Cox and Greta Callahan Hall of Flemingsburg, and a great nephew; Kevin Callahan of Lewis County.- Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William 'Willie' Emmons, a sister; Pauline Fearin, and a niece; Peggy Callahan.

Funeral services will be held-at 1:00-p.m.-Tuesday, July-30, 2013 in the chapel of the Denton-Workman Funeral home with Bro. Delbert Dawes and Dylan Bjorkland-Officiating.--Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.- Visitation will on Monday July 29, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.- In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Hilltop Christian Church.-

1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in the chapel of the Denton-Workman Funeral Home

Mt. Carmel Cemetery
