On Saturday, September 29, 2018, Esther Jeannie Allen Smith left this world to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior. Jeannie Smith, age 51 of Flemingsburg, was born on July 13, 1967 in Georgetown, OH, a daughter of Gene Allen of Flemingsburg and the late Esther Ruth Allen. She was the wife of Earl Dean Smith for thirty-one years and the loving mother to her two children; son, BillyGene Smith and daughter Jamie Dean Smith, both of Flemingsburg. Besides her mother, Jeannie is preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Dean Allen; maternal grandparents, John and Bertha Marybelle McKenzie; and paternal grandparents, Leonard and Mildred Allen. In addition to her father, children, and husband, Jeannie leaves behind two sisters, Roxanna (Chris) Browning, and Susan Allen Highfield, both of Flemingsburg; four nephews, Harley Allen, Aaron Allen, Clayton Browning, and Zachary Browning; and a niece, Shelby Highfield, all of which she loved dearly and claimed as her own. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, along with multiple friends that she considered family. Jeannie was employed at Comprehend of Maysville for twenty years as a clerical support and childrens services secretary. She was also employed at Clarks Pump N Shop of Flemingsburg for ten years as an assistant store manager. She loved and thought of her co-workers and customers as family. Jeannie was an active member of Greater Rain Community Church where her passion came from teaching Childrens Church. Jeannie led a life of faith and loyalty. She walked in the light of the Lord and always had inspiration and joy to spread to others. She lived her life by the saying "I'm a winner either way, if I go or if I stay". Jeannie did not lose her battle with cancer, she won her race with life, and giving all the Glory to God. Funeral services for Jeannie will be held 1:00 pm Friday, October 5, 2018 in the Chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Jacob White, Pastor Kyle Gezon, and Pastor Jordan Coppage. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday, October 4th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harley Allen, Aaron Allen, Clayton Browning, Zachary Browning, Chris Browning, and Jamie Highfield. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be Shelby Highfield.
