Garnet McIntire

July 28, 1923 — January 7, 2018

Garnet McIntire, 94, of Flemingsburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at her residence. Born July 28, 1923, in Lewis County, she was a daughter of the late Amon and Bertha Moore May. Mrs. McIntire was a retired secretary having worked for the Fleming County Soil Conservation Office and the law office of McDonald & Walton. A member of Flemingsburg Christian Church, she was also an active member of the Fleming County Homemakers Association, the Fleming County Garden Club, the Order of Eastern Star, and NARFE. She is survived by: a daughter, Frances Moore (Bill) Peterson of Maysville; three grandchildren, Doug Peterson of Cold Springs, Ricky (Jacquie) Peterson of Danville, and Kathy Peterson of Maysville; two great-grandchildren, Kate Peterson and Annelise Prodent; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: her first husband, Richard Francis Moore; her second husband, O.W. McIntire; her sister, Virginia May Trumbo; and brother-in-law, Clay Trumbo. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Flemingsburg Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Tracy R. Parker, Randy Fritz, and Pastor Martin L. Voiers. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday, January 10 at the church. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Peterson, Doug Peterson, Kent Cooper, Jeremy Patrick, Travis Walton, Jason Walton, and Tim Fritz. Honorary pallbearers will be her caregivers, Janice Maher, Denise Hollice, Marsha Hunt, and Brandi Brooks. Memorials are suggested to the DWM of Flemingsburg Christian Church, 201 E.
