Gary Wayne Clark, 66, of Mt. Olivet, formerly of Fleming County, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014. Born in Ewing on August 4, 1947, he was a son of the late Pauline Willoughty Clark and George Allen Clark, Sr. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Gary was retired from the Department of Highways. He was an avid golfer, softball player, and he was a true Cincinnati Reds and UK fan. Gary is survived by: three sons, Eric Clark of Hillsboro, Aaron 'Doodle' (Deanna) Clark of Foster, KY, and Bryon Kelly Clark of Ft. Knox, KY; five grandchildren, Chase Clark, Kyle Clark, Kohwyn Clark, Candus McKenzie, and Brittney Clark; three great-grandchildren, Jorden Duncan, Jayden Clark, and Isaiah Mers; three brothers, George 'Sam' Allen Clark, Jr., David 'Beaver' Clark, and Christopher Clark; and three sisters, Diane Spencer, Judy Callahan, and Jennifer Beatty; and his dog, Sammy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Clark Vice. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, July 25, 2014 at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Larry T. Ingram. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, July 24th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery with military honors performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and the Franklin Sousley VFW Post #1834.
