George Doyle

George E. Doyle, age 86, of Flemingsburg, widower of Mildred Earlywine Doyle to whom he was married for 68 years, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 1, 2019. George was one of ten children born to the late Henry and Mattie Hickerson Doyle, on January 13, 1933 in Flemingsburg. A member of the Flemingsburg Baptist Church, George was a lifelong automobile dealer and farmer. He was the co-owner and operator of George’s Auto Sales as well as having worked for Doyle Auto Sales in his younger years alongside his brothers. George ran the salvage yard for many years and also drove all over the country delivering and picking up cars having logged hundreds of thousands if not a million miles driving. He was a loving and hard-working man who was self-sufficient, could fix anything or engineer a way to make something work. George also loved fishing, whether it be in a pond, or going to Florida for a month on a fishing trip. George will be remembered not only for his many stories and knowledge of cars, but also for his kindness and love that he showed to everyone he encountered. He is survived by: two sons, Jackie Allen (Brenda) Doyle of Flemingsburg; Timothy Wayne Doyle of Cincinnati; two grandchildren, Tony Doyle of Williamstown, KY, and Judy Terrill of Flemingsburg; six great-grandchildren, Scott Terrill of Lexington, Shayla Terrill of Flemingsburg, Jordan Terrill of Paris, Mark Christopher Doyle of Williamstown, Eric Landrum Doyle of Williamstown, and Olivia Grace Doyle of Williamstown; a brother, Marion (Susan) Doyle of Nashville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Russell Doyle, Raymond Doyle, Beulah Armstrong, Adrian Doyle, Jewell Earlywine, Melvin Doyle, Barbour Doyle, Delores Dugan, and Beulene Carver. Funeral services for George will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Flemingsburg Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Larry Brown and Bro. Tom Mitchell. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, December 6th at the Flemingsburg Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elizaville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Doyle, Jeff Doyle, Glen Arnold, Marcus Schwartz, Robbie Davis, and Kevin Lee. Funeral arrangements are in care of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home.
