Gerald R. Crain, 64, of Flemingsburg, husband of Connie Crain, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his residence. Born May 24, 1950 in Lexington, he was the son of Mary Lloyd Vice Crain of Flemingsburg and the late Alvis Wendell Crain. A U.S. Army veteran, Gerald was a retired plant operator with Carmeus Black River Division and a lifetime farmer. Besides his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Emily (Dwayne) Anderson of Morehead and Betsy (Jason) Keller of Flemingsburg; four grandchildren, Wyatt Keller, Jared Anderson, Carley Anderson, and Justin Anderson; a sister, Carol (David) Waller of Ironton, OH; four aunts, Charlotte (Herbert) Jolly, Wanda Vice, Bernita Porter, and Loretta Justice; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and cousins. Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Peter Morgan. Visitation will be 11:00 am until the hour of service Saturday (today) at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park with Military Honors performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and the Franklin Sousley VFW Post #1834. Memorials are suggested to the Flemingsburg Christian Church, 201 E. Water St., Flemingsburg, KY 41041 or the Fleming County Public Library, 202 Bypass Blvd., Flemingsburg, KY 41041 or to a charity of one's choice.
