Flemingsburg

Jaqueline Mary Gustafson (nee Sisson) was born January 19, 1933, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025.

She is survived by a sister Valda and three children Kirt Gustafson, Kimberly Gustafson (Pavoni), Torrie Gustafson.

Preceded in death in 2009 by her husband Donald Gustafson. She had four grandchildren and leaves 11 great grandchildren.

She lived her entire married life in Texas where she raised her children and managed the family ranch. She was instrumental in assisting her husband with a furniture manufacturing business which crossed the Mexican Border. Fluent in Spanish, she was famous for driving large rigs across the border each way.

She leaves behind a legacy of courage and adventure and facing each challenge with her customary optimism, shunning all negativity. Jacquie loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would drop everything for them. She had a great love of animals, specifically horses and dogs, both of which she raised on their land, named “Val Haven” near Harlingen, Texas.

She spent a handful of years in Fleming County, Kentucky with her daughter and son-in-law preceding her death.

The family is grateful for her long and meaningful life and especially for the care she received her final six months of life in Robertson County Nursing facility. The nurses and volunteers at Hospice of Hope were instrumental in assisting the family in the final days. Their work is God’s work, and the family is eternally grateful to them both.

Funeral services will be private and family only with interment at a future date in Victoria, British Columbia per Jacqueline’s wishes.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is caring for all arrangements for Jacqueline Mary Gustafson and her family.
