Jerry David Dillon, 77, of Beechtree Pike, Flemingsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 6, 1946 in Foxport, Kentucky a son of the late Thomas Dillon and Lena Breeze Dillon.
Jerry was a retired highway construction worker and also served his country in the United States Marine Corp having served during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching and supporting Fleming County Little League, falconry, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Foxport Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one son, Dwayne Scott Dillon; one brother, Bill Dillon; four sisters, Dorothy Hurd, Ruth Post, Alberta Barker, and Wanda Owens; one granddaughter, Paige Dillon.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his family which includes his wife, Jean Donahue Dillon; two daughters, Becky Bowling and husband Brian of Flemingsburg, and Angie Stephens and husband Jeff of Ewing, Kentucky; one son, Darian (Kerry Thomas) Dillon of Maysville, Kentucky; two brothers, Mark Dillon and wife June and Barry Dillon both of Foxport; one sister, Judy Denton of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren, Tiffany Dillon, Morgan Blaydes and husband Will, Ashley Bowling Hyatt and husband Zach, Cameran Dillon and her fiancé, Chris Davis and Jordan Stephens and his fiancé, Catherine Collier; one great grandchild, Saylor Jean; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday September 14, 2024 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Pastor Harry Meadows officiating.
Jerry will be laid to rest in the Elizaville cemetery with Military rites by the United States Marines Corp Honor Guard, the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley V.F.W. Post #1834.
Visitation is after 12 noon until the hour of service at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg.
Casket Bearers will be Marty Owens, Sam Miller, Jody Gray, Steve Stacy, Tyler Dillon, and Tom Owens.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Matt Owens, Ashley Dillon, Steve Hurd and Brad Gray.
All arrangements for Jerry David Dillon and family are under the care and direction of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home, 405 South Main Cross, Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041.
