Juanita Smith

April 8, 1929 — March 31, 2018

Juanita Smith, 88, of Flemingsburg, beloved wife of 69 years to Howard "Dover" Smith, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville. Born April 8, 1929, she was the youngest of fourteen children to the late Edward Franklin and Virginia Mullins McCord. A homemaker, Juanita was a member of the Battle Run Christian Church since 1947. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother with a heart of gold. Besides her husband, she is survived by: two daughters, Pam Jones of Spring Hill, FL and Connie Watson of Flemingsburg; three grandchildren, Stephanie Porter of Flemingsburg, Brent Porter of Spring Hill, FL, and Candace (Greg) Nowak of Spring Hill, FL; four great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Gabriel Earlywine of Flemingsburg, Jonah Porter and Alexis Nowak, both of Spring Hill, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by thirteen siblings. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Sam Dunn. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday, April 4th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elizaville Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Steve Brown, Bill Brown, W.T. Brown, Jerry Porter, and Lincoln Earlywine. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie McCord and Gabriel Earlywine. Memorials are suggested to Battle Run Christian Church, c/o Dickey Flora, 158 Brown Rd., Flemingsburg, KY 41041.
