Kenneth Gordon Neal, 74, of Hillsboro, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at his home.
He was born on January 25, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky, a son of the late Charles and Lillian Pike Neal.
Mr. Neal was the owner and operator of a construction company and he was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.
He was a member of Judah Christian Fellowship, where he played the guitar in the church band. Kenneth was very patriotic and he enjoyed playing the guitar, writing Christian songs, reading, studying the Bible and lay speaking at church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sybil Neal Whaley.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Gatman Neal, one son, Kenny Neal of Hillsboro, Kentucky, two daughters, Heather Neal of Hillsboro, Kentucky and Tamra Smith of Covington, Kentucky, his twin brother, Charles Dennis Neal of Hillsboro, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Kennedy Smithwick, Lilly Neal (granddaughter, who he raised), Terrence Smith and Marcus Smith, three great-grandchildren, Reaves Smithwick, Raelynn Smith and Marcus Smith, Jr. and several other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Newman Cemetery in Fleming County, Kentucky with Pastor Steve Leitz officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the W. N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and the Franklin Sousley VFW Post No. 1834.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 P.M. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Charles Dennis Neal, Kenny Neal, Michael Neal, Terrence Smith, Marcus Smith, David McKee, Phillip Ritchie and Will Young.
