Larry Henderson

Larry D. Henderson, 69, of Flemingsburg, loving husband of 30 years to Carolyn Jackson Henderson, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Fleming County Hospital after a brief illness. Born March 8, 1945 in Fleming County, Larry was a son of the late Freddie and Elwanda Fleming Henderson.

Retired from Browning s Manufacturing after 35 years, Larry was also a former Magistrate for the Mt. Carmel area, delivered papers for the Flemingsburg Gazette and he was a former driver for Licking Valley. Larry also served on the Flemingsburg Housing Authority Board. He never knew a stranger and loved people. Larry was a member a member of the Battle Run Christian Church and he truly loved the Lord. An avid UK fan, he also loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren at all of their sports events and supporting them in whatever they were involved in. He was a truly loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Besides his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Amy Wilson Carpenter and Kelli Jo Wilson Hickerson (Arnie Fields), both of Flemingsburg; grandchildren, Trey Thomas Carpenter, Katie Marie Hickerson, Jackson Dale Hickerson, and Sydni Jo Fields. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister, Sharon K. Fizer; and a brother, Wayne D. Henderson. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Tuesday, August 12th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elizaville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be, Donnie Moran, Arnie Fields, Randy Jackson, Larry Jackson, Steve Jackson, Johnny Ruark, Mike High, and Cody Douglas Ruark. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Dean Jackson, Darrel Gray, Scotty Gulley, Keith Emmons, Jimmy Fleming, Jackie Storey, Bonnie Fleming, David Fleming, Judy Fleming Sapp, Scott and Linda Manning, and Mike and Betty McLean.
