Leonard Ray Adams, 83, of Flemingsburg, husband of 57 years to Jane Stephens Adams, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his residence. Born in Flemingsburg on February 22, 1931, he was the son of the late Leonard Charles and Kathryn Ring Adams.

Leonard Ray was the owner of Adams Refrigeration Heating and Air. A member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Leonard Ray was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and he was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid UK basketball fan who loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by: a daughter, Mary Lynn (Danny) Vice of Flemingsburg; a son, Stevie (Cathy) Adams of Flemingsburg; grandchildren, Bryan (Christy) Manning of Wallingford, Blake (Kristen) Manning, Brooks Manning, Case Adams, and Hallie Raylynn Adams, all of Flemingsburg; great-grandchildren, Carter Manning, Kenley Manning, and Brentley Ray Manning; and a sister, Marian Adams Rye of Flemingsburg.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Peter Morgan. Visitation will be 2-4 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Pallbearers will be Bryan Manning, Blake Manning, Brooks Manning, Frazee Hart, Duane Turner, Michael Corbin, and Johnny Colgan. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren, Case Adams, Hallie Raylynn Adams, Carter Manning, Kenley Manning, and Brentley Ray Manning.
