Margaret Johnson

Margaret Royse Johnson, 60, of Flemingsburg, widow of Gary T. Johnson, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Claire Regional Hospital in Morehead. She was born on September 11, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of the late Roy E. and Joyce Sheridan Royse. Margaret was a former Registered Nurse having received her Associates Degree from Morehead State University. She was an avid gardener and photographer. Margaret loved her grandchildren and taking care of her dogs. Her family was her whole world. She is survived by: two daughters, Heather (Damon) Hitch of Flemingsburg and Ashley Johnson of Flemingsburg; two grandchildren, Ava Grace Hitch and Emily Faith Hitch; siblings, Becky Royse of Morehead, Susan Harris of South Carolina, Mike Royse of Hillsboro, Pat (Brenda) Royse of Wallingford, Danny (Emily) Royse of California, Jeff (Cinda) Royse of Virginia, Melissa Royse of Morehead, Debbie Royse of Iowa, Donna Royse of Iowa, Dorie Williams of California, and Dennis (Crystal) Royse of Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Calvert of Flemingsburg and Angie Johnson of Fleming County; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Harley Sexton, Jr. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chuck Hurst, Damon Hitch, Ray Hitch, Shawn Royse, Christopher Royse, R.T. Johnson, and John Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Dixon, C.C. Campbell, Kevin Ishmael, Tony Hargett, Mike Royse, Pat Royse, Danny Royse, and Jeff Royse.
