Marjorie Campbell Grannis, 96 of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026 at her home after an extended illness.

She was the widow of the late William Bruce "Billy" Grannis who passed away January 4, 2015.

She was born July 28, 1930 in Fleming County, Kentucky a daughter of the late George M. Campbell and Grace Skaggs Campbell. 

Marjorie was the oldest member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church Disciples of Christ where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir, was honored with Deaconess Emeritus status and was a member of the church D.W.M.  She worked several years as a clerk for the Kentucky Utilities Company. She enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family. She was also a member of the homemakers. 

She leaves to mourn her passing her family which includes four children, Wayne (Kim) Grannis of Flemingsburg, Sharon (David) Barnett,  Nancye (Billy) Black both of Flemingsburg, and Karen Newsom of Ewing; Eleven grandchildren, Billy Newsom, Jennifer Stokes, Robby Newsom, Jimmy Newsom, Sarah Hamm, Jill Jones, Staci Thrasher, Michele Hawkins, Melissa Purvis, Josh Grannis, and Jordan Grannis; twenty five great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Survivors also include special caregivers, Pat Stacy, Shelia Sweets, Maria Jolly, Margaret Morgan, and Barletta Fearin  whose kindness and loving care were deeply appreciated.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Campbell; one sister Jane Gooding and a son-in-law Bobby Newsom.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM of Friday, September 25, 2026 in the sanctuary of the Flemingsburg Christian Church with Pastor Randy Fritz officiating. 

Marjorie will be laid to rest in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at the Flemingsburg Christian Church.

Family and Friends will serve as casket bearers. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Flemingsburg Christian Church Scholarship Fund.
