Mary Campbell

October 31, 1934 — February 27, 2014

Mary Ann Huflage Campbell, 79, wife of 55 years to Robert 'Bobby' Campbell, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home. Born October 31, 1934 in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ella Emily Boehne Ruflage. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Mary Ann grew up in the Lutheran Church and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She came to Flemingsburg from Lexington as the Fleming County Home Extension Agent and in later years she was the administrator at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home. Mary Ann was also a substitute teacher with the Fleming County School System. She loved to quilt and was a member of the Fleming County Quilters Group as well as the Fleming County Homemakers. Mary Ann was very active in Fleming County 4-H having served as a past member on the Fleming County 4-H Council. Upon graduation from UK, she spent 6 months in Norway as an IFYE (International Farm Youth Exchange student). Besides her husband, she is survived by: a son, William 'Willie' Robert (Sara) Campbell of Wallingford; a daughter, Beth Ann Campbell (Doug) Coyle of Danville; and five grandsons, Campbell Coyle, Corbin Coyle, Spencer Campbell, Clark Coyle, and Lucas Campbell. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Denton-Workman Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Norman Wasson. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Saturday, March 1st at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Gerald Burke, Wayne Craft, Larry Gooding, Wayne Grannis, Mike Bach, and Doug Coyle. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
