Mary Kathryn McGlothlin, 76, of Ewing, wife of Dan McGlothlin, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Fleming County Hospital. She was born on January 1, 1940 in Greenup, KY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Imogene Blankenship Ruark.
A graduate of Greenup High School and Morehead State University, Mary Kathryn was a retired teacher having taught at Ewing Elementary for many years. She was a lifelong supporter, volunteer, and leader of Fleming County and Kentucky 4-H, was a past member of the Ewing Womens Club, and attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview.
Mary Kathryn enjoyed her family and many friends and hearing from her former students. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. Mary Kathryn also enjoyed doing crafts, being on the go doing different things, as well as meeting new people.
Besides her husband, she is survived by: a son, David (Bobbi Jo) McGlothlin of Richmond; daughter, Amy McGlothlin of Lexington; and two grandsons, Cody and Kyle McGlothlin, both of Richmond.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Ross Cemetery in Boyd County. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday, February 25th at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home in Flemingsburg, and 7am-9am Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 6184 Ewing Rd., Ewing, KY 41039 or the East Fork Methodist Church, 20100 State Route 3, Rush, KY 41168.
