Maxine Campbell

January 9, 1923 — March 7, 2015

Maxine Campbell, 92, of Tilton, widow of Wilburn Campbell, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Fleming County Hospital. Maxine was born January 9, 1923 in Bath County to the late Thomas D. and Nancy Sorrell Corbin.

A retired farmer, Maxine was the oldest member of Tilton United Methodist Church, where she served as former treasurer. An excellent cook, Maxine enjoyed square dancing and she also loved eating Hershey candy bars.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: her daughter Nancy Willeroy; and two sons, Robbie Campbell, and Tommy Campbell. She is survived by: grandchildren, Jeff Willeroy of Tilton, Randy Willeroy of Lexington, Darrin Campbell of Owingsville, Robin Campbell of Lexington, Kim Nash of Waxhaw, NC, and Rob Allen Campbell of Louisville; a brother, Billy (Jackie) Corbin of Tilton; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Gail Skaggs. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Tilton United Methodist Church, 702 Tilton Rd., Flemingsburg, KY 41041 or the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home, 115 Pioneer Trace, Flemingsburg, KY 41041.
