Robert William Crain (89 years old) died early Monday morning, March 3rd, 2019 at The Willows Nursing Home in Lexington, Kentucky.
He is survived by one son, Eugene Woodford Crain II, and two granddaughters, Lauralee Crain Estill (Patrick Estill) and Molly Gene Crain, and one great grandson, Francis Barber Estill, and first cousin Georgie Shanklin.
He is preceded in death by his father Eugene Woodford Crain I, and mother Iva Wallingford Crain, his first wife Dora Jane Hendry Crain, and second wife, Cassalou Cropper Crain, and his daughter Mary Markwell Crain.
Robert was owner and operator of Farmers Stockyards in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, and Crain's Tobacco Warehouse in Maysville, Kentucky, for several decades.
He attended Kentucky Military Institute for his high school education and the University of Kentucky.
Robert was an avid traveler, having spent time in over 90 countries throughout his lifetime, and was loved and liked by many friends, socially or through business.
Visitation for Robert W. Crain will be held at Carpenter-Fritz and Vice Funeral Home in Flemingsburg this Friday, March 8th from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. The funeral will begin at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Flemingsburg Cemetery.
