Ruby O. Boone

Ruby O. Boone, 90, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday February 23, 2023 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

Born February 29, 1932 in Rowan County, Kentucky to the late William Orville Blevins and Lela Mae Tackett Blevins.

She cooked for many years at the Minerva Elementary School and Maysville Extended Care. She was a member of the Helena Methodist Church and the Fleming County Homemakers.

Ruby enjoyed making candy, cooking, was a seamstress and spending time with her family. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Asa Roscoe "Jack' Boone, a daughter; Janice Purcell one sister, Nellie Poston and numerous siblings.

Survivors include four daughters; Patty Purdon (William) of Washington, Kentucky, Mary Florence (Ray) of Elizaville, Kentucky, Vickie Emmons (Lonnie) of Hillsboro, Kentucky, and Charlotte Poe (Ronnie) of Washington.  Two sisters, Joca Faye Sloan of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Lillie Mae Jones of Minerva, Kentucky. One brother, Albert Blevins of Chatum, Kentucky.  Fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday,  February 27, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Dr. Michael Rice officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Plumville, Kentucky.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday.

Pall bearers will be Lonnie Emmons, Ronnie Poe, Kevin Purdon, Chris Florence, Brian McGlone and Daniel Poe. Honorary pall bearers will be Ray Florence and William Purdon.
