Shirley Marilyn Drake Cioe

Shirley Marilyn Drake Cioe, 73, of Wallingford, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at her residence. 

She was born May 31, 1949 in Rowan County, Kentucky, to the late William Evert Drake and Zola Roberts Drake.

Shirley had worked at Hinton Mills; was a member of the Muses Mill Christian Church and was a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Muses Mill Fire Department.  She enjoyed crocheting and  working with her flowers; loved to clean and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and all her pets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Victoria Kresich; one son, Hobert Doyle Jr.; eight brothers, John Drake, Roy Drake, Arthur Drake, Clyde Drake, Willard Drake, Elmo Drake, Carl Drake, and George Drake; and three sisters, Dollie Daily, Lorene Drake, and Nola Drake.

Survivors include, her husband, Piero Cioe of Wallingford; one son, Gary Doyle (Sherry) of Cynthiana, Kentucky; granddaughter, Alanna Doyle and grandson, Troy Caldwell (Michelle), whom she helped raise; one brother, Robert G. Drake (Penny) of Muses Mill, Kentucky; two sisters, Christine Hamm of Flemingsburg, Kentucky and Dorothy Archer of Morehead, Kentucky; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; special friends, Lee and Shala England; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. 

Services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg, with Brother Doug Reeves and Brother Ronnie Conley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Drake Cemetery in Rowan County.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. till the hour of service at the funeral home. 

Casket bearers will be Troy Caldwell, Alex Kresich, Robert Drake II, Adam Hinton, Donnie Lane Logan, and Nathan Hinton.

Honorary casket bearers will be Frank "Bud" Hinton and Ron Lawrence.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Muses Mill Christian Church, 3735 Muses Mill Road, Wallingford, Kentucky 41093.
