Shirley Wright

Shirley Ann Wright, 64, of Wallingford, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her home. She was born in Lewis County on October 17, 1954, a daughter of the late Frances Swim Polley and the late Adrian Eugene Moore. Shirley was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending all of her time with family and friends. She is survived by, her husband of 47 years, Lawrence Wright; four brothers, Arnold (Judy) Moore, Allen (Mary) Moore, Wilson Moore, and Omer Moore; two sisters, Barbara (Jack) Dyer and Geneva (Doug) Brown; two grandsons, Shane Spurlock and Joey Wright; two granddaughters, TeriLynn (A.J.) Titus and ChyAnn Taulbee; a great-granddaughter, Mya Titus; and many other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Adrian Lawrence Moore; a sister, Juanita McCane; and her two children, Armilda Ann Best and Lawrence Eugene “Rocky” Wright. Funeral services for Shirley will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the chapel of Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Cleve King. Visitation will be 11am-2pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wright-Best Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason McKee, A.J. Titus, Johnny Wright, Darrell Switzer, Billy Switzer, and Shane Spurlock.
