Stanley Ruark

Stanley Gay Ruark, 76 of Sardis, Kentucky left us on October 24, 2021 to go to heaven to be with God and the loved ones that have gone on before him. He passed away at St. Elizabeth HealthCare in Edgewood, Kentucky after an illness of several weeks.

He was born April 11, 1945 in Lewis County, Kentucky to the late Brooks and Virginia Moore Ruark. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Meadows Ruark, one daughter Carla Jo, brothers and sister.

He was retired from Blue Licks State Park and attended the Sardis United Methodist Church.

He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family which include his children; Patricia (Mark) Parker of Maysville, Kentucky, Marsha (Bryan) Grierson and James Ruark all of Carlisle, Kentucky. Grandchildren, Keith (Kacey) Grierson of Ribolt, Kentucky, Allyson (Brad) Cooper of Greenville, North Carolina, Kiersten Ruark of Maysville, Kentucky, Mark (Nichole) Parker of Maysville, Kentucky,  Brandon Parker of Maysville, Kentucky, Tiffany Parker of Morehead, Kentucky, Brooke (Josh) Corey of Peasticks, Kentucky and Brittany (Arron) Thompson of Owingsville, Kentucky. Great-Grandchildren, Waylon and Weston Grierson, Owen Parker, Jerricka Davis and Addlynn Thompson. One brother, Glen Ruark of Flemingsburg and two sisters, April (Bill) Justice of Spring Hill, Florida and Brenda (John) Little of Wallingford, Kentucky. Gay will also be missed by his longtime companion Rita Doyle and many family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, October 28, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Brother Delbert Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Esham Cemetery in Lewis County.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg will be after 6:00 pm Wednesday evening.

Serving as pall bearers will be Lyn Cunningham, B. J. Cunningham, Mark Parker, Brandon Parker, John Little and Jay Hall. Honorary pall bearer will be Ray Gilbert Miracle.
