Virginia Miller

May 21, 1933 — March 28, 2014

Virginia Alice Miller, 80, widow of Clay C. Miller, Sr., passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. Born May 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Iva Alice Million Maddox. Virginia was a faithful member of the Dalesburg Wesleyan Church to which she dearly loved. She was young at heart and loved to play with her grandchildren,to whom she taught to jump rope. She even rode a moped up into her 70's. Virginia loved to sew and she made a lot of her own clothes. Virginia loved her family very much but most of all, she loved the Lord.

She is survived by: seven children, Linda S. Ross, Connie (Ronnie) Reeder, Clay C. (Joyce) Miller, Jr., Elizabeth 'Betty' Ruth McRoberts, Audrey Joyce (Tony) Rucker, Jeffery Douglas (Linda) Miller, and Daryl (Sherry) Miller, all of Flemingsburg; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey (Frank) Mitchell of Pennsylvania, and Bernice (Lowell) Tackett of Flemingsburg; two brothers, Bob (Caroline) Maddox of Fleming County, and Doug (Nora) Maddox of Arizona; a son-in-law, Robert Newman of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: two daughters, Kathy Dennis and Pamela Newman; a granddaughter, Tabitha Himes; and ten brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home (formerly know as Denton-Workman Funeral Home) officiated by Rev. Aaron Riley. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Monday, March 31st at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be Timothy Scheffler.
