William Franklin Ellison, age 79 of Mt. Olivet, beloved husband of Charlotte Lykins Ellison, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville. Born in Portia, AR on December 30, 1939, he was a son of the late Clay A. and Fanny Stoner Ellison. William moved to Mason County in 1963 and then to Robertson County in 1987. He was the manager of the United Department Store from 1961-1975, the former owner of the New York Store from 1975–1980, and was a rural mail carrier from 1977 until his retirement in 2002. William was a member of the Maysville Moose Lodge and the Maysville DeKalb Lodge I.O.O.F. Besides his wife, he is survived by: his children, Richard W. (Lorraine) Ellison of Pinellas Park, FL, Catherine E. (Tom) Walton of Ewing, Tracey D. (Robert) Taylor of Tampa, FL, and Stacey S. Ellison of Gulfport, FL; grandsons, Steven Paul Wood, Tyler Ellison, Richard Ellison, Jr., Jessie Ellison, and Matt Ellison; great-grandsons, Carson Ellison, Elijah Ellison, Ezra Ellison, and Elyjah Dean; and a brother, Dan Ellison. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Tamara Jucita Ellison; a grandson, Michael Wood; sisters, Mary Holobough, Jenny Little, Johnnie Holder, Emma Jane Riles, and Opal Santi; and brothers, J.C. Ellison, Clay Ellison, and Matt Ellison. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, September17, 2019 at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Dr., Maysville, KY 41056 or to one’s local animal shelter.
