James "Jim" Jones

James Paul “Jim” Jones, 82, of Ewing, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his home.

He was born on October 22, 1939 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, a son of the late William Clyde Jones and Ada Mae Blanton Jones.

Jim was a veteran truck driver of 62 years.  He was known as “Dual Stacks” and he received many years of safe driving awards.

He attended the Hilltop Christian Church and was a member of the Teamsters and V.F.W.

Jim enjoyed NASCAR, dirt track racing, Kentucky basketball, trucking, fishing, hunting and talking on his phone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Ricky “Rick” Jones, who passed away on December 8, 1995 and siblings, William “Billy” Jones, Clyde Thomas Jones, Mary Hamm, Mabel Jean Sosbe and John “Bob” Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Faye Gray Jones, whom he married on November 23, 1962, one son, Paul “Todd” Jones (Laura) of Ewing, one daughter, Lori Jones of Ewing, grandchildren, James “Derrick” Jones (Myranda), Savanah Martin (Zack), Tyler Jones (Brittany), Amber Jones (Arron), Ricky “Chase” Hughes, Brady Hughes and Jessica Price (Aaron), several great-grandchildren, his siblings, Clarence Jones of Wabash, Indiana, Anna Florence Dyer of Mauk, Georgia and Betty Hill of Palmerton, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 10, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Brother Jerry Boling and Brother Sam Chanslor officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chase Hughes, Brady Hughes, Robbie Miller, Derrick Jones, Tyler Jones and Bufford Cooper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Amber Jones, Savanah Martin, Jessica Price, Jerry Neal, Christian Soister, Mikey Marlar, Jimmy Story, his great-grandchildren and his trucking friends.
