James "Tom" Moore of Flemingsburg departed this life on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, Kentucky. Tom was born June 13, 1944 in Maysville, Kentucky to the late Charles and Edythe Sininger Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Guyneth Littleton Moore and two children, Sandon (Laura) Moore of Pleasantville, New York and Allison (Chad) Holst of Bettendorf, Iowa.

He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Alexander Joseph Moore, Aubrey Marie Holst, Catherine Rose Moore, Mitchell Carsten Holst and Henry Michael Holst. He also leaves behind his brother, Mike (Carol) Moore of Maysville, Kentucky. Also a host of extended inlaws, nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

As a young boy Tom delivered newspapers on his bicycle before he went to school and later worked at the Russell Theater in Maysville as an usher. Upon graduating Maysville High School in 1962, Tom enlisted into the U.S. Army and proudly served and was honorably discharged after 3 years. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division and later worked as a radio teletype operator with the Army Signal Corp.

He started his career after discharge from the Army at Toncray Auto Parts in Maysville and Browning Manufacturing and in 1977 he moved to Augusta, Georgia to work as an industrial tool and machinery salesman and later moved to Macon, Georgia. He completed 40 years doing what he loved with a company that he loved  Ziegler Tool Supply and DECO Tool Supply. He never grew tired of hard work and determination.

After retirement in 2015 he moved back to his home state and settled in Flemingsburg to be close to his brother and special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ardie and Anthony Marshall.

He was active in his church St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was a true American Patriot and was passionate about his family, his church and CLEMSON Football! He will forever be remembered for quick humor.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Flemingsburg with Father Phil Devous officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery at Maysville.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is after 6:00 pm Monday. A vigil prayer service will be said at 7:30 pm.

Serving as pall bearers will be Corbin Marshall, Chris Crider, Jordan Smith, A. J. Moore, Tony Bacigalupo and Chad Holst. Honorary pall bearers will be Anthony Marshall, Gary Littleton, Darryl Littleton and Kenny McNeil.

Contributions are suggested to the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
