Jerold "Jay" Short

Jerold Levon "Jay" Short, Jr., 27 of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Wednesday evening at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg. He was born in Gainesville, Florida on October 30, 1993 to Jennifer Bryant Blevins and Jerold Levon Short.

Jay was employed at Mason Sheet Metal in Lexington, Kentucky where he worked as a welder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother Jennifer Bryant Blevins of Winchester, Kentucky, his father, Jerold Levon Short of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Maternal grandparents; Mary Richards of Flemingsburg and Wayne and Faye Bryant of Clarksville, Georgia. Two brothers, Jacob Cray of Winchester, Kentucky and Joshua Short of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. One sister Jade Bryant of Winchester, Kentucky. A nephew expected in July 2021 and Davetta and Robert Hamilton of Wallingford, Kentucky who helped raise him.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, May 10, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Visitation at the funeral home is after 12 noon Monday.
