Steven was a dreamer, who enjoyed life and had lots of different interest and hobbies. He always had projects going on around the house and shop, again a dreamer.

In his lifetime, he was a farmer on the family farm showing Polled Hereford cattle on the local, state, and national level.  He moved on to doing photography for church directories.  He changed careers again and became a truck driver, driving for himself, then various companies with working for Schneider National delivering for Wal-Mart as his last employer.

He was passionate about sports especially UK Football, NASCAR, bowling and loved to go watch and drive on dirt tracks with his son.  He had recently picked up the Sailing bug, having sailed on Cave Run Lake and Kentucky Lake.  His dream after retirement was to sail to Florida and the Bahamas.  He rode his motorcycle around the back roads of the area, always looking for new places to see.  He was a natural playing the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. He passed his love of music onto his family, supporting his daughter to sing and to share her beautiful voice and to his granddaughter on teaching her how to play the piano. He and his grandson loved to play video games together and Steve had recently tried his hand at virtual reality games with the help of his grandson. He was a “Trekie”, loved Star Wars and Star Trek.  He enjoyed watching TV in his spare time especially Westerns and Old Classics.  He loved to cook and try new recipes or tweak recipes and see how they turned out and then try them on the family to get their approval. He gardened and taught his son how to garden and to can beans, tomatoes, and pickles. Woodworking is a Hinton family trait and Steve was no exception.  He loved to build things and worked alongside of his son in doing a lot of projects together.
