Wanda Jean Poynter Wagner, 84 of the Beechy Creek Community in Fleming County, Kentucky passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. She was born in Mason County, Kentucky on October 5, 1937, to the late John and Sudie Melissa Renchen Poynter.

Wanda attended the Christian Church and was a loving homemaker and mother. She enjoyed flowers and raising a big garden. Family was important to her.  She was the caregiver for her parents and for her father-in-law and mother-in-law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Rickie Dale Wagner, a great-granddaughter Evie Claire Rigdon and a half-brother, Howard Poynter.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years Maurice Wagner. One son Layne (Stephanie) Wagner of Wallingford, Three daughters, Lisa (Billy) Rigdon of Wallingford, Cheryl (Marty) Roberts of Flemingsburg and Kristi (John) Carter of Plant City, Florida. Eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Lois Taylor and one nephew.

Private family funeral services will be conducted at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Brother John Byard officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery.

There is no visitation.

Grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
